St. John’s River Water Management District Board Vacancies

The St. John’s River Water Management District (SJRWMD) is one of five water management districts in Florida. It covers a huge swath of the state, basically from Indian River County up to the Georgia boarder.

Water Management Districts are very important environmental regulatory agencies whose work is focused on ensuring a long-term supply of drinking water and to protect and restore the health of water bodies.

Right now there are several vacancies on the governing board which need to be filled. The Governor appoints members and has already appointed several great members to the South Florida Water Management District. We hope he will do the same to the SJRWMD.

Several very qualified candidates have thrown their hats into the ring, you can read more about them in a recent TCPalm article here. The IRNA has worked well and closely with both Paul Fafeita and Bryan Corrigan over the years.

Any individuals wishing to support Paul Fafeita and/or Bryan Corrigan are encouraged to contact Governor DeSantis either by email at GovernorRon.DeSantis@eog.myflorida.com or by calling his office at 850-717-9337. There are several vacancies, so you are able to support both candidates if you’d like to do so.

There is a lot that a strong governing board of a water management district can do to improve and protect our waters. We look forward to seeing the appointment of qualified candidates to this board.

Thank you.
