About the event
We’re excited to coordinate and kick off the Indian River County BioBlitz, part of the Indian River Biodiversity Initiative, during the week of April 19th. Space is limited, so please RSVP to let us know you're coming!
Join IRNA as we explore Toni Robinson Waterfront Trail and document the plants and animals that call it home during this year’s BioBlitz on April 19 from 9-11am. (We may not use the full 2 hours). This is a free, family-friendly event.
The BioBlitz is a community science event where students, families, and community members document local plants and wildlife using iNaturalist, a free, family-friendly platform used by scientists and educators.
These events are a fun, hands-on way to:
Learn about science in your local environment
Contribute real data used by researchers and conservation planners
Build environmental literacy and stewardship
See your local ecosystem as a living, connected community
Participants should have the iNaturalist app downloaded on their phone with an account created prior to arrival.
