The BioBlitz is a community science event where students, families, and community members document local plants and wildlife using iNaturalist, a free, family-friendly platform used by scientists and educators.
These events are a fun, hands-on way to:
Learn about science in your local environment
Contribute real data used by researchers and conservation planners
Build environmental literacy and stewardship
See your local ecosystem as a living, connected community
Participants should have the iNaturalist app downloaded on their phone with an account created prior to arrival. Bonus points if you find "Indian River BioBlitz" in the projects tab!
