Land & Water: Issues and Solutions Forum

Join Clean Water Coalition (CWC), Indian River Neighborhood Association (IRNA), and Pelican Island Audubon Society (PIAS) at the The Emerson Center on April 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a public forum focused on increasing community awareness of countywide land and water resource challenges—particularly the declining health of the Indian River Lagoon and Blue Cypress Lake—and the actions needed to improve and protect these vital ecosystems.

Subject matter experts from organizations including the Indian River Lagoon Council, Indian River Land Trust, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, Marine Resources Council, City of Vero Beach, Indian River County, St. Petersburg College, and the University of South Florida will present throughout the day. Topics will include stormwater management, wastewater systems, biosolid application, and solutions such as low-impact development, habitat restoration and conservation, and appropriate budget allocation for Indian River Lagoon revitalization.

Tickets are $25 per person and include admission to the program and a boxed lunch. Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle.
